“Hey, this is Michael. I’ve been in the Denver area most of my life, raised on a mix of rock, alternative and country–country definitely being the strongest and most recent influence. I love the storytelling aspect of country: the characters, the scenery, the series of events in the songs. It’s like listening to good fiction, getting pulled into the story.
I’ve always loved writing, both music and lyrics, so I’m the one who gets each of our songs started. In fact, I often wake up with catchy guitar riff in my head, run to my phone and record it. I develop the song in my head, and then share a recording with Scott, Lori and Mike. We play with our ideas until we feel the songs are right. Some of the best times we have together are in the rehearsal studio, reaching those “YES, that’s it!!” moments, when just the right sound fills the room with unmistakable energy.
Since completing our “Simple and True” EP CD in 2012 and releasing it on iTunes, Google Play and others, we’ve taken country-rock to Cheyenne Frontier Days, Greeley Stampede, side stages at Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts concerts, and to a host of cozier venues and private shows. And we’re gearing up to move forward. We have new music in the works, a constant eye on our live performance, and new connections coming at us with each step we take. I’m really excited about where we are…and where we’re headed: to the top.”
